Breaches of School Uniform Policy

The school’s decision on uniform is final. If parents are concerned about whether a particular item/style is suitable, they should contact the school for advice BEFORE buying the item or sending the child to school. Any student arriving at school (Year 7-11) with missing or incorrect uniform will be sent to student services by their form tutor or teacher. Parents will be contacted and with parental support, the student will be sent home to change into the correct uniform. If parents cannot be contacted, students will be excluded from lessons and placed with a member of the pastoral team. Parents are asked to check that their child is in full uniform each day before they leave for school.

Confiscation

Jewellery and all other prohibited items will be confiscated by staff and kept in a secure place. Confiscated items will be returned to the student at the end of the day in the first instance. If there is a repeat, then the items will be retained until parents are able to collect.

Parents

We ask all parents who send their children to our school to support the school uniform policy. We believe that parents have a duty to send their children to school correctly dressed and ready to learn. One of the responsibilities of parents is to ensure that their child has the correct uniform and that It is clean and in good repair. If any parent would like the school to modify the uniform policy, they should make representation, in the first instance, to the Headteacher. The school welcomes children from all backgrounds and faith communities. If there are serious reasons, for example on religious grounds, why parents want their child to wear clothes that differ from the school uniform, the school will look sympathetically at such requests.
