Topping Out Ceremony

Last Updated: Fri 2nd Feb

Thursday 1st February saw a topping out ceremony take place at our new school. This is a significant landmark in the construction of the building which marks the last steel component of the structure being lifted into place.

Groes Primary School choir welcomed guests into our main hall before they were entertained by solo performances and extracts from Oliver and Annie performed by pupils from Dyffryn.

After these wonderful performances from both schools, a tree was lifted to the maximum height of the building to signify the structure had been topped out. This age old tradition is said to keep evil spirits away.

Now the school has been topped out, the countdown is now on for the final completion of the building.
